“No one cares about the stories they’re not in.”
Matt Nathanson’s new album was released today. Appealing to the true public relations junkie within me, the above was my favorite line after the first listen.
Although he probably didn’t mean it this way, the line should resonate with all PR professionals. We’re in the business of telling stories on behalf of organizations – stories that people are going to want to hear. But who cares about stories that they aren’t a part of?
Everyone’s a character. It’s our job to put them into the story.
